Week 12 Reflection

Week 12 and I'm still enjoying researching on tasers. Being a cop is a tough thing but it can all be worth it in the end when you've succeeded the [physical] training. Police training down in Wellington includes using firearms such as guns. REAL LIFE GUNS [something that I'll be looking forward to when I get there], other weapons like batons and your other equipment like your handcuffs, pens, ticket book - blah blah blah.

But, there is one thing that bothers the community, especially the CATT - and that's using taser guns. Getting trained with tasers is something different, though carrying a taser and using it on crims is another.

The fact that it can kill people is what's got them so worked up about the tasers, but personally, I don't think tasers are that bad. If it was mishandled [ is that a word? ] by any of the officers or abused, then okay - maybe it was a bad idea. However, to have evidence for it to be mishandled is a must. Something like witnesses or American styles and have cameras in their cars.
